Chilling....

Well its been a slow week since my last post, not too much going on in terms of TTC. Michael even asked if I still wanted a little baby, he said I have talked about it too much lately.

We spent time with some friends on Friday for Yvonne's birthday. Hung out with Michael's parents Saturday and Sunday, completed some major cleaning. We finally had our back splash in the kitchen completed, I was so happy and excited, like a kid in a candy store. Yesterday we had High Definition satellite installed, our little house is becoming cozier and cozier.

Today I will start my ovulation predictor kits to determine our four day ovulation window. Lets get it funky, lets get it funky....woo hoo!

Husband is on board!

Michael has told me recently that he would like to be more involved in my charting process, he wants to learn and be supportive. So I thought great but I didn't want to throw him in too deep, since its really just satisfying my obsessiveness. Yesterday, Tuesday, Michael met me for lunch and afterwards he went to Barnes & Nobles. Apparently he picked up two books on fatherhood :0. I was surprised and he was very excited. He must have read from the books to me for thirty minutes. He especially enjoyed the insight on what pregnant women obsess about, their hormonal highs and lows, and what he should be careful of......nice.

False Positive

On Friday, August 17th I really thought I saw a faint positive. I was reservedly excited and thought of how I could surprise Michael. It was all in my little head when I saw a light pink line because Aunt Flow came to visit on Sunday. Darn that little witch! Anyhoo, its on to month two of trying to conceive.

First Big FAT Negative

On Tuesday night, we received our first BFN, not that I am happy about that at all. As I said earlier, there was much hype and teasing about Michael and I trying to conceive. This tends to build up the anticipation and on Tuesday night, Michael could take it no more. Around 10pm, we scurried to the local Walgreen's and picked up the early pregnancy test. With only 8-9 days past ovulation, the likely hood of a positive test was slim. We took the test and a few minutes later no response, so its a BFN, big fat negative. Michael's response was "Oh well", I however didn't have that same response, :(

Very observant friends

We spent August 10th weekend in San Antonio for Robert and Angelique's wedding. I was tired on Friday with a small hot flash that was way werid. I ended up not going out and slept 12 hours that night. It was refreshing but I felt like a bum and I missed seeing David & Imrana as much as possible since they were only visiting from Los Angeles.

I wasn't drinking since we are in our two week waiting period. A few people asked if I was pregnant and it seemed to be a big deal for me not to drink. Imrana said I wasnt hype! Kathy and Rudy questioned pregnancy? Rudy went so far as to confirm pregnancy with his theory that he can smell it so, apparently pregnant women have a different scent. I hope he doesnt mean odor....

Not sure at all

Well I am not sure at all about when ovulation occurred. My tempertaure charting gives us a date of ovulation different than the OPK gave us. I am not charting very well either. This first morning temperature reading before getting out of bed is difficult for someone that snoozes like I have learned to do from Michael. Nice habit sharing. So we could be way off on our timing. The website that I have been using says are chances are good but not great...alrightly then.

First positive OPK

On Saturday, Ausgust 4th I got my first positive ovulation predictor kit, which means an egg will be released from my oldie but goldie ovaries in the next 12-48 hours. Unfortunately by now Michael has caught on to my overly "loving" mood. I think he is actually a little resistant, why fake the funk babe? Just kidding. We "shoot" for a little a baby.

The husband goes snooping

Well we are on day five of what I consider ovulation week. Since we are now out of town, I left out my little binder with medical information and my charts out. I was attempting to reminder myself of my morning charting duties. I enter the bedroom and low and behold, Michael is digging through my folder and analyzing my charts! He turns to me and says "You are even checking off when we make love"? He was throughly disgusted....so he shouldn't look in my stuff man!

The first stab at ovulation week

July 30th was my first week of suspected ovulation since we decided to start our family. Needless to say baby making has been abundant and Michael has quietly taken notice. Mainly because there is no panic run to the restroom if you know what I mean. It was after the third renedvous out of four days that Michael began his weridness to my weirdness. He tried to persuade to get in the tub afterwards, WTH! I know what he is trying to do and I understand that he knows what I am trying to do. So why all the drama? Men...

Officially TTC

As of July 24th, Michael and I are officially trying to conceive baby numero uno.

I have been charting since April 2007, when I ceased using birth control pills. Charting is a natural family planning technique used to assist couples to conceive or prevent pregnancy. We (use loosely) are obviously trying to conceive, so I have documented various responses to my menstrual cycle.

Our trip to Spain was during the fourth of July holiday and we choose to take this trip as a romantic yet fun getaway before we have children. It was great, exciting, interesting, fun and very romantic at times. It was just me and My Mike!

This married couple is back from vacation and ready to move on to step two, ttc!
